About Us

Lark Textile Design is a Hand weaving studio. We design and create woven and constructed rugs. Each rug is a celebration of color and texture coupled with innovative use of traditional weaving techniques.

Lark Textile Design was born out of a desire to keep alive the American tradition of rag rug weaving. A tradition that reused anything from potato sacks to old coveralls to make functional and highly individual textiles. Although we use all new materials today, the concept of thrift and creativity are alive and well in our studio.

Our looms are designed and built here in the United States specifically for rug weaving. The looms are 12 ft wide, air powered, dobby looms weighing 2,300 lbs. Our Artisan weavers stand up to weave and walk back and forth following the shuttle as the rug magically appears as a woven functional piece of art.

All of our products are produced in the United States with skilled artisans at the loom. We are based in Bellingham WA. celebrating 25 years of serving Interior Designers with our textile design expertise.
